Saint Moses the Black
St. Moses the Black also known as Moses the Strong, was an Ethiopian Monk and Desert Father in the 4th century. Before his conversion and entrance into the monastic life, Moses was a member of an infamous gang of violent robbers. After a robbery gone wrong and finding a hiding place inside a monastery, Moses was drawn to the monastic way of peace and contentment. Soon after Moses was baptized, converted from his ways of rage and robbery, committing his life to penance and discipline.
