During the month of November the Church meditates on the Communion of Saints: The Church Triumphant (those who have reached Heaven) The Church Suffering (those who are still in Purgatory, and the Church Militant (those who are still here on Earth). The Church celebrates the first of these groups with All Saints Day on November first followed by the commemoration of the Faithful Departed, All Souls Day, on November second.
